APAA is the official body for running and managing athletics in Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated to the AFI. A State Athletic Association is the official governing body responsible for overseeing and managing athletic activities within a specific state. APAA selects the State Athletics Teams for various national competitions and conducts the State Championships for various age categories. It has conducted various national level championship and recently hosted the State Athletics Meet.
